Scouting for Food is HERE!

Flier delivery to neighborhood:  Monday, January 28th or Tuesday, January 29th in lieu of your regular Pack 88 Den meeting.  We need parents to drive patrols of scouts to and from the neighborhood.  Class-B uniform.  Parents / drivers and Scouts ALL meet in Activity Center by 6:45 pm

Food / bag pickup:   Saturday, February 2nd.  Meet at Church at 8:30 am in full Class-A Uniform.   We need parents to drive patrols of scouts through the neighborhood, knocking on doors (in pairs) and picking up the food.  Deliver the food back to the Church parking lot where we will have large bins on a trailer.

This is a mandatory Pack 88 event!

What is Scouting for Food?

As Scouts, we know how fortunate we are to have a warm meal every night — whether around the campfire or at the kitchen table. And we know that not everyone is so lucky.  That’s the genesis of Scouting for Food, the annual food-collection drive run by Scouts across the country. It’s another reminder to our local communities that Scouts are here, doing good turns.

Scouting for Food takes place in two parts. On the Monday or Tuesday, and then Scouting for Food Saturday. Scouts distribute bags and/or door hangers to let their neighbors know about the drive. On Scouting for Food Saturday, Scouts revisit those houses to pick up bags full of canned food, cereal, pasta, peanut butter, juice and other nonperishable items.

The food is delivered to needy families all throughout the community via the food bank.

We greatly appreciate you participation.
